Learn to bring your OTT apps on Connected TVs

Now you can publish your MAZ OTT app on the Samsung TVs and LG TVs as well!

The new CTV channel is a version of your OTT apps on the connected TVs. Our new LG and Samsung channels have all the same features and functionalities as your OTT app. So, if you have an OTT app and are looking for a CTV solution, then LG and Samsung channels are the best solution for you. Read on to know more!

How to Enable the LG and Samsung Channels

Since LG and Samsung are premium channels, please write to success@mazsystems.com if you would like to get these CTV channels enabled for your OTT app.

Once enabled in the MAZ dashboard, you can access the LG and Samsung channels by going to Content > Channels.

Setting up the LG and Samsung channel

Log in to your MAZ Dashboard and navigate to Content > Channels > Channel Setup > LG (or Samsung)

You will see a form to fill out your channel information.

LG channel setup:

App title - The App title is used in the LG store


Description - This is a description of your app that will be displayed in the app store


Primary Category - This helps prospective downloaders find your app in the App Store.


Secondary Category - This also helps downloaders find your app in the App Store.

Rating - LG will assign your app an age rating based on its content.

Tags - Used for searching the app

Images/Screenshots required for - App Icon, Primary Screenshot, Secondary Screenshot, Launcher Background, Splash Screen Background.

Stripe Account Connect - You must connect to Stripe if you have any in-app purchases in your app. Without this, your end-users won't be able to purchase any paid content. Please read this article to know more about how to connect the Stripe account

Once you are done filling the form, click on "Save" to save the information.

You've now completed your LG channel setup!

Samsung channel setup:

App title - The App title is used in the Samsung store


Description - This is a description of your app that will be displayed in the app store


Primary Category - This helps prospective downloaders find your app in the App Store.


Secondary Category - This also helps downloaders find your app in the App Store.

Rating - Samsung will assign your app an age rating based on its content.

Tags - Used for searching the app

Seller Name - Name of the seller

Support Email - Email of the seller providing the support, else MAZ's support email

Seller Homepage - Website URL of seller

Representative - Name of the representative from the seller

Address - Address of the seller

Phone Number - Phone number of the seller.

Note: Things that are not yet supported on the MAZ CTV channels:

  • MAZ CTV channel is not supported on LG TVs with an operating system version below OS4 and on Samsung TV models older than 2017.

  • Custom fonts not yet supported for inline menus

  • Remote media keys are not yet supported

  • The ability to allow users to save content without logging in is not yet supported

  • The ability to display closed captions is not yet supported

  • The ability for users to skip ads is not yet supported
